About the venue
Isabel Bader Theatre is part of Victoria University on the University of Toronto's downtown campus. Used for concerts, theatre, conferences and student lectures, it is also a recognised venue on the city's film-festival circuit. The combination of an academic setting and a dedicated performance space gives audiences a place to experience cultural presentations within the university community.
What makes the venue distinctive is that public cultural activity and university life use the same performance setting. A film screening, musical programme or staged presentation can bring visitors onto a campus where learning and creative work are already part of the surroundings. The theatre is therefore both a destination for an evening out and a meeting place between the university community and the wider city, with each production adding its own character to the room.
