About the venue
Ricoh Coliseum is the former name used in this listing for Toronto's Coca-Cola Coliseum at Exhibition Place. The building hosts sports, entertainment and major exhibition-related events, giving it an arena-scale character rather than a small theatre atmosphere. Its long history of concerts and gatherings remains part of the venue's identity under the current name.
The coliseum's varied event history is part of what distinguishes it from a venue devoted to one art form. Sport, live entertainment and exhibition activity can each give the arena a different atmosphere, while the Exhibition Place setting links it with one of Toronto's major gathering grounds. Retaining the Ricoh name helps visitors interpret older programmes; the Coca-Cola Coliseum identity refers to the same venue's continuing place in the city's public event life.
