West End Cultural Centre

About the venue

West End Cultural Centre is a Winnipeg arts organisation and performance venue on Ellice Avenue. Established through the renovation of a former church into a community arts facility, it presents music and other creative programmes while operating as a nonprofit and registered charity. Its neighbourhood identity connects live performances with opportunities for community participation, supporting both visiting artists and the city's cultural life. Community activity also includes youth music learning and programmes that connect emerging performers with audiences, extending the venue's work beyond a conventional ticketed concert calendar.

The transformation of a former church into an arts facility is part of the centre's community story. Its nonprofit role connects performances with a broader commitment to cultural participation, allowing artists and audiences to gather in a place rooted in the neighbourhood rather than defined only by commercial entertainment. For visitors, the Ellice Avenue venue combines that history with an active programme, giving an evening of live music a connection to Winnipeg's local creative life.
