City Playhouse Theatre

About the venue

City Playhouse Theatre is Vaughan's community performance venue on New Westminster Drive in Thornhill. Its programme brings together theatre, music, dance and cultural presentations, making it a meeting place for local audiences and visiting performers. The theatre forms part of the Benjamin Vaughan complex and gives the surrounding community a dedicated stage for shared artistic experiences.

The theatre combines a dedicated auditorium with facilities that support productions behind the scenes, including dressing rooms and a green room. Its multipurpose role allows recitals, plays and other presentations to share the same community stage, while performing-arts programmes connect the venue with learning as well as attendance. For Vaughan audiences, City Playhouse offers the continuity of a familiar local theatre and the variety of a programme that brings different artists and groups together.
