About the venue
Fairview Library Theatre is a dedicated performing arts space within Toronto Public Library's Fairview branch. The library makes its theatres available for cultural, educational and community activities, giving this venue a neighbourhood-focused role. Located near Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue, it brings live presentations into a public-library setting rather than a stand-alone commercial entertainment complex.
A library theatre brings the focus of a performance room into a building whose everyday purpose is public learning and access. That combination gives Fairview a community character, allowing presentations to sit alongside the wider life of the branch. For an audience, the venue offers a dedicated place to gather around a programme close to the surrounding neighbourhoods, with each organiser adding its own artistic, educational or cultural purpose to the stage.
