George Weston Recital Hall

About the venue

George Weston Recital Hall is a concert venue within Meridian Arts Centre on Yonge Street in North York. Its purpose-built recital setting makes it a home for orchestral and other live music performances, distinct from the centre's theatrical stages. Listed on older tickets as part of the Toronto Centre for the Arts, the hall belongs to the same performing arts complex now known as Meridian Arts Centre.

The hall's concert layout and adjustable acoustic elements support its focus on live sound. Orchestra seating, a balcony and a choir loft form part of the auditorium, while acoustic panels and drapes help the room respond to different musical needs. For listeners, that purpose-built environment distinguishes George Weston from the other spaces at Meridian Arts Centre: it is a place where the instruments, voices and collective attention of the audience take centre stage.
